Who We Are

Richard Backeberg, Owner

Certified Bicycle Mechanic, UBI 2010

Richard has had a passion for bicycles since he learned how to ride one at 2 years old. Growing up on a farm in nearby Ridott, he lived for building dirt jumps beside the shed and riding with his friends. As a young adult, he attended the United Bicycle Institute and worked as a bicycle mechanic in Rockford. Most recently he’s been working in sales. Richard has a knack for putting others at ease, and is excited to help you find your perfect ride. Now a dad of 3, he is ecstatic to be running a small family business and sharing his passion with his own kids and families in the community.

Sarah Backeberg, Owner

Sarah is newer to the bicycle scene and rural living, but is diving right in. Bicycle rides on gravel roads beside cornfields and country cemeteries were an outlet for her as a young adult. She now loves to squeeze in a ride on a foggy summer morning before her children wake for the day. Unashamedly the tech and organization arm of the family business, Sarah is excited to make your shop experience personal and seamless both online and in the store.
